CUFA
Chulalongkorn University Fixed-Wing Aircraft Desing Team
a student-run aircraft design team under the Aerospace Engineering program
Chulalongkorn University Fixed-Wing Aircraft Design team (CUFA), formerly known as CU DBF, is a student-run aircraft design team under the Aerospace Engineering program. Since 2011, CUFA has represented Chulalongkorn University in the prestigious AIAA Design/Build/Fly (DBF) competition in the United States, where students design, build, and test small unmanned aircraft under real-world mission constraints.
Practical Engineering Experience.
CUFA gives students hands-on experience across the full aircraft design cycle—concept development, aerodynamic and structural design, systems integration, manufacturing, testing, and flight operations. Working in multidisciplinary sub-teams, members apply classroom theory to real engineering challenges while building teamwork, leadership, and project management skills.
Students from all years who are passionate about aircraft design, systems engineering, or hands-on aviation projects are encouraged to join CUFA and help shape the next generation of Chulalongkorn-built aircraft.
CUFA Heads to Germany for Air Cargo Design Challenge
This year, the Chulalongkorn University Fixed-Wing Aircraft Design Team (CUFA) will compete in the Air Cargo Design Challenge in Germany, showcasing the innovation and global readiness of our aerospace students.
